Mind, body and soul

First and foremost I am NOT a Dr. I do not have a medical degree. Any information read here is not meant to treat, diagnose or replace any orders given to you by your Dr. The natural remedies listed below are those I have researched, studied and tried firsthand. Diseases, health issues and other diagnoses could potentially interfere with natural remedies, so never try anything without first speaking with your Dr. and ensuring it is safe for you to do so. Personally, I have extremely fragile and sensitive skin, and I am very perceptive to how I react to things. These are remedies I have found to not only help me substantially, but also remain effective with little to no side effects for me. Enjoy CAREFULLY~

Manuka Honey

Honey is an ancient remedy that has been used for centuries. Manuka honey which is native to New Zealand serves as an intense antioxidant and acts as an anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and anti viral remedy! Not only can it be taken internally to support your immune system, but it can also be used externally as an excellent skin treatment to calm, soothe and ultimately aid in healing skin issues!

Turmeric

The most active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin which has several scientifically proven health benefits. It is a potent anti inflammatory and antioxidant which helps with the symptoms brought on by arthritis and heart disease. It also may improve brain function and lower risk of brain disease. When taken internally curcumin can also help ease the symptoms of depression and fight age related diseases! Add black pepper to it and it enhances the absorption in the body and boosts the effects. Turmeric has the same the anti inflammatory and antioxidant benefits when used on the skin! It is a super spice and has amazing benefits to keep us healthy both internally and externally!

Apple Cider Vinegar

Possibly the most effective treatment when it comes to killing harmful bacteria, ACV is loaded with benefits! First and foremost it can restore skin’s pH balance which is the cause of so many skin issues! An unbalanced pH level both inside and outside of the body create a spiral of negative side effects. Until your pH is balanced, your skin may suffer from sensitivity, inflammation and acne. Internally it can lead to acidosis or alkalosis which negatively affect your entire system. Our skin is slightly acidic, and although ACV is an acid itself, the antimicrobial properties it possesses will help cancel out the bad acid and help improve the skins barrier function. It is also helpful in killing harmful bacteria on the skin and preventing them from multiplying. ACV may be used as a toner or an astringent to clean. Just make sure you always dilute it with water and never directly put it on skin!

Oil of Oregano

Oil of oregano is packed full of antioxidants and full of powerful compounds called phenols. It may be effective against bacteria, fungus, inflammation and pain. Carvacrol is a phenol in oregano which helps stop the growth of several types of bacteria. Thymol is an antifungal and helps support the immune system, and rosmarinic acid is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect against free radical damage which is responsible for age related diseases. Oil of oregano may help treat candida (the fungus responsible for yeast infections.) An overgrowth of candida can also cause yeast infections on your skin. Oregano oil has shown to be promising at treating inflammation and acting as a pain reliever, exerting similar effects and powerful and commonly used medications. Whenever using oregano oil, always make sure to dilute it with some sort of carrier oil (I use olive oil) and never use it directly on skin, or internally as it is so powerful.

CBD Oil

CBD has been studied for it’s role in easing symptoms of anxiety, depression and acne and relieve pain. CBD seems to act on the brains serotonin receptor which regulates mood and social behavior. It tends to calm the mind and ease tension relating to anxiety, stress and trauma. It may also have neuroprotective properties. CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting receptors in your nervous system which reduces inflammation. When used for acne, CBD can reduce sebum production (the oil that causes the breakouts) as well as ease inflammation and pain. CBD can be used both internally and externally and can go directly on skin.
